Whole home wireless design and installation
A designed wireless network for a large or awkward house, typically three to six access points placed from measurement rather than guesswork. We are a wireless company, so we work with the wiring your house already has and use point to point links to reach detached buildings. If a job genuinely needs new cable pulled, we say so and bring in a low voltage contractor for that part.
The honest version of this pitch: if you live in a 1,800 square foot single story house, the equipment your internet provider handed you is probably fine and we will tell you so. Large homes, two and three story homes, block construction, long lots, and detached buildings are a different engineering problem, and that is the work we want.
We do wireless. We do not pull cable through your walls, and we would rather tell you that plainly than take the job and subcontract it quietly. When a house genuinely needs new runs, we design around what it needs and hand that part to a low voltage contractor.
What is included
- Access point count and placement taken from the site survey
- Use of any wiring the house already has, since most newer homes have more of it than the owner realizes
- Deliberate mesh where there is no wiring, placed so the relay hop costs you as little as possible
- Point to point links to reach a detached garage, workshop, or casita without a trench
- A single network name that follows you through the house without dropping the call
- Separate networks for guests and for smart home devices
- Configuration you own, on equipment you own
What moves the price
- Number of access points, which follows square footage, floors, and construction
- Whether the house already has usable network wiring, which decides how much has to go over the air
- Outbuildings, pool areas, and detached garages, which usually means a point to point link
- Whether the existing internet service and router need replacing too
- Any new cable, which is subcontracted and quoted separately so you can see what it costs
Ranges come from the assessment, once somebody has looked at the building. We do not publish a headline number because it would be wrong for most houses.
Questions people actually ask
How many access points does a large house actually need?
As a rough starting point, one access point per 1,500 to 2,500 square feet of living space on each floor, adjusted heavily for construction. A 4,000 square foot two story frame house often lands at three. The same square footage in block with foil backed insulation can need five. The survey is what turns that range into a number.
Is mesh good enough, or do I need wires?
Wireless mesh costs you roughly half your throughput at every hop, because the access point talks to your device and to the next access point over the same radio. That is a real cost, and it is why we use any wiring your house already has before we mesh anything. Where there is no wiring, mesh done deliberately, with the units placed from measurement, is usually enough for a house. Where it is not, new cable is the answer and we bring in a contractor to pull it rather than pretending we do that work.
Do I have to replace what my internet provider gave me?
Not always. Sometimes the provider equipment stays and simply stops acting as the router. We will tell you which case you are in during the assessment.
