The owner is a programmer and an 802.11 specialist who has designed and deployed wireless in warehouses, schools, and churches. Those are three of the hardest buildings there are: metal racking that moves, hundreds of devices joining in the same minute, and a room that is empty on Tuesday and full on Sunday.

Why commercial is different

Coverage is the easy half. Capacity is what fails.

Warehouses

Racking full of product absorbs and reflects signal nothing like empty racking, and high ceilings put the access points far from the scanners. A survey taken in an empty building is close to worthless.

Schools

Thirty to forty devices in one classroom all associating within the same two minutes. That is a capacity and channel planning problem, and adding more access points on the wrong channels makes it worse rather than better.

Churches

A sanctuary that is empty most of the week and full on Sunday morning, with streaming and audio running at the same time. Bodies absorb 5 GHz, so the room behaves completely differently when it is occupied.

No calculator on this page, deliberately. A commercial design needs somebody in the building. We would rather spend an hour onsite than hand you a number that is wrong in a way neither of us discovers until installation day.

You leave knowing whether you have a real coverage problem, a configuration problem, or an internet service problem, and roughly what fixing it involves.

Point to point links for detached buildings

Any building that is not attached to the house gets its connection over the air, from a detached garage thirty feet across the driveway to a workshop on the far side of five acres. A pair of small directional antennas, one aimed at the other, carrying a real connection with nobody digging a trench. This is the wireless answer, and wireless is what we do.

Paid WiFi site survey

A measured survey of your building that produces a signal heat map floor by floor, a scan of the competing networks and non WiFi interference around you, a channel and power plan, and a written recommendation naming specific access point models and mounting locations. The survey fee is credited toward the installation if you have us do the work.

Network remediation and provider equipment replacement

For networks that already exist and already misbehave. We find the actual cause of the dropouts, the buffering, and the video calls that freeze, then fix it, which sometimes means new equipment and sometimes means correcting a configuration or a channel choice on the equipment you already own.

Camera design, storage sizing, and the network they sit on

We design the camera system and build the network it runs on: where the cameras go, what each one has to identify, how much storage the footage needs, and how the recorder is kept off the rest of your network. Four 4K cameras recording continuously fill roughly 2 terabytes in two weeks, so retention is decided before anything is ordered. Mounting is done by a Florida alarm system contractor.

IoT and guest network segmentation

Your thermostat, doorbell, robot vacuum, and television do not need to sit on the same network as the laptop holding your tax returns. Segmentation puts them on separate networks with rules between them, so a compromised smart plug cannot reach anything that matters.

A sit down session at the end of the job where you learn how your own network works: how to add a device, change the guest password, reboot the right box in the right order, and read what the app is telling you. Includes written documentation of your network, in plain language, which is yours to keep.

Monitoring and support plan

An optional monthly plan where we watch the network remotely, apply firmware updates on a schedule instead of at random, and answer the phone when something is wrong. For most homes this means we often know about a failing access point or an internet outage before you have finished noticing it.

Commercial questions

Why does a commercial job need an onsite visit before a quote?

Because capacity, not coverage, drives a commercial design, and capacity depends on things you cannot see from a floor plan: ceiling height, what is stored on the racking, how many devices are in a room at the same minute, where the cabling can physically go, and what the building is made of. Any number given before that visit is a guess with a markup on it.

What does 802.1X with RADIUS give us over a shared password?

Every person authenticates as themselves against your existing directory. When somebody leaves you disable one account instead of changing a shared password and redistributing it to everyone who stayed. It also lets you place people on the right network automatically by role, so staff, guests, and point of sale never share a segment.

Do we get the documentation?

Yes, always, including the configuration, the addressing, the access point locations, and the credentials. You should never be in a position where changing vendors means starting over. Handover training is part of the job rather than an upsell.
